A two day 'National Conference on Agricultural Scientific Tamil' is organized at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore during August 5-8-2016 to 6-8-2016.
Dr. S. Mahimairaja, Dean, Agriculture, TNAU, Coimbatore & Convener of the conference briefed that this conference is jointly organized by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and New Delhi based Agricultural Scientific Tamil Society on the theme of 'Tamil can Do: Agriculture-Veterinary- Fishery' with the aim of bringing out agricultural and allied sciences and technologies in to Tamil language for the benefit of the farmers.
Dr. K. Ramasamy, Vice-Chancellor, TNAU inaugurates in the esteemed presence of Dr. S. Thilagar, Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Chennai; Dr. G. Rathinakumar, Acting Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Fisheries University, Nagapattinam; Mr. S. Nagoor Ali Jinnah, CGM, NABARD, Chennai. About 350 delegates were participated and sixteen books containing about 800 research-articles in Tamil were released.
As the novelty of the conference, a thematic sessions were held under the chairmanship of thavathiru Maruthasala Adigal, Principal, Perur Tamil College on the theme of 'Tamil Can Do: Agriculture-Veterinary- Fishery' in which six eminent scientists and scholars presents their keynote addresses on feasibility of Tamil for agricultural education and research.
