Nagaraj, a sanitary worker from Coimbatore has been honoured for his selfless and exemplary services towards upliftment of cleanliness of the City.

Nagaraj has played a major role in ensuring the cleanliness in Ward 23. His routine starts early morning at RS Puram, where he collects the wastes from residents and segregates them accordingly.  He also imparts knowledge to the residents on the need for segregation of wastes and ways to implement it. Many times, we had worked on double-shifts to ensure proper recycling of wastes. He was very particular on the surroundings of his ward and ensured cleanliness and hygiene at all time.

He strongly believed on the waste management protocols, which has earned him a ransom of Rs. 5 lakhs by selling recyclable waste to ITC.

Nagaraj was well known amongst the officers and co-workers for his tireless dedication towards work but he proved them something even bigger. His act of donating a part of that 5 lakhs for educating underprivileged children shows his love and dedication towards the people and community.

Officials of ward 23 also vouch for his earnest and good-hearted nature and that he deserves this honour.
