Enjoy road space, unhindered

Come Sunday, citizens will be free to use a stretch of NSR Road in Sai Baba Colony for leisure activities from 6.30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

‘Car Free Sundays’ is an initiative of the Corporation of Coimbatore, and the Coimbatore Traffic Police, presented by The Hindu .

T he 800m stretch of NSR Road from Thadagam Road Junction to Hotel Annapoorna will be made free of motor vehicles to help both the young and the aged indulge in fun-filled activities.

The administration wants to develop NSR Road as one of the seven model roads in the city. The events planned include interactive and group activities, road art, tattooing, flash mob dance, music, trampoline, and fitness sessions.The initiative is to make Coimbatore a healthier place to live in besides creating a well-knit community.
