Namma Covai Whatsapp group back in news

Close to two years ago, city-based C. Kishore started Namma Covai, a Whatsapp group with the intention of finding a solution  to the various issues people of this city are facing. This group has educationalists, industrialists, Government officials, representatives of NGOs, entrepreneurs among others as members. From finding a solution to traffic woes to announcing the launch of a new social initiative, Namma Covai has been very active since it came into being.



This group is back in news again. This time for supporting the traffic police team Coimbatore District Home Guards with materials worth Rs. 42,000. A few days ago it was shared in this Whatsapp group that the traffic police team and the Coimbatore District Home Guards who are on duty manning traffic on the roads are not equipped with the basic materials like hand gloves, pollution masks and reflector jackets. The group admin Kishore was quick to respond. He sent a message to his circle of known people and also to members of this group. Funds in cash and materials came in from kind sponsors.

Recently materials worth Rs.42,000 were collected and handed over to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Traffic, S.Saravanan.
