TPDK members stage protest

Members of Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kazhagam (TPDK) lead by its State Secretary Aaruchamy staged a protest this morning. Aaruchamy is governing body member of TPDK.

TPDK members claimed that Supreme Court had issued an order stating that Cauvery Water Management Board must be formed for solving the water dispute between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Party members are angry with the Modi Government for turning down this order of Supreme Court. Members of this party also alleged the Modi government of doing nothing for the welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu. TPDK members staged a protest before Periyar Padippagam at Gandhipuram.

During the protest a few members of this party attempted to burn the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, they were prevented by the police from doing so. The police arrested a few protestors too.
