Madras high court announces vacation sitting arrangements

The Madras high court has announced the vacation bench arrangements at the principal seat in Chennai and at the Madurai bench during the Dasara holidays, from October 8 to 16.

Justice B Rajendran and Justice N Authinathan will sit in the principal seat on October 14 to dispose of urgent matters.

Justice S Vimala and Justice K Kalyanasundaram will sit in the Madurai bench on October 14 as vacation judges to dispose of urgent matters. The officers functioning in the principal seat will be deputy registrar, Y Sampathkumar and assistant registrars K Kanniappan and K Usharani while those functioning in the Madurai bench are: deputy registrar D Premkumar and assistant registrars S Authimoolam and P Chandini Jasmine. Notice of any application of urgent matters has to be presented along with the papers to the vacation officers before 1.30pm on October 13 in Chennai and Madurai. Sittings of the vacation bench will be from 10.30am to 4.45pm on October 14, both in Chennai and Madurai The registries in both places will work from 10am to 4.45pm on October 13. They will function from 10am to 5.45pm or till the rising of the court, whichever is later, on October 14.
