And this cycle of joy continues courtesy Radio City 91.1 FM

Do you have a bicycle that you do not use? Would it not be nice if your bicycle is repaired and handed over to someone who needs it and who cannot afford to purchase the same? If the answer is ‘yes’, then call the team of good Samaritans at radio station Radio City 91.1 FM. They will visit your doorstep, pick up the bicycle, have it repaired and hand it over to a new owner. Their latest initiative christened ‘Recycle’ was flagged off in the presence of Corporation Commissioner, Dr. Vijaya Karthikeyan last month (September).

To begin with, this initiative lives up to its name. A bicycle is collected from its owner. It is repaired and in the workable condition, the bicycle is handed over to a new owner. The 'recycle' team have collected unused and dumped bicycles from various apartments, those bicycles were refurbished by the team. Those refurbished bicycles were provided to the children at Karumbukkadai and Ukkadam tank bund areas. The team is planning to provide more bicycles to children in different areas of the city, hence have requested the public to generously donate unused cycles.

Those who wish to contribute bicycles for this laudable cause can call +91 422 663 9911.
