Patient-friendly medical app launched in Coimbatore

Danvanthiri Medical Tourism (DMT) is a start-up venture of Maleshaa Inc. This morning, this company launched a health care app for the Coimbatore market. This app we are told is patient-friendly and will serve as a one-stop solution for information on all health care services and related services. From identifying the right health care specialist to visit in the city to allowing its user to donate organs, this app aims to revolutionise the way health care services are identified in Coimbatore.

This app will provide complete access to health care services on one platform. There are several unique services and solutions for patients and healthcare providers such as list of hospitals with their locations, specialties, accreditations, procedures among other information. This app aims to help the service providers and patients too by bridging the gap between them.

Launching this app in our city this morning, Sivachenduram B, Co-founder and Managing Director, DMT said "We are the only app in the mobile health care category to have introduced six different modules under our ambit with many more other innovative products and services in the pipeline.” 

“Danvanthiri is the only mobile app which has an exclusive GPS-enabled 'Save Me' button. The button can alert the registered family member and call the nearest patient coordinator who, depending on the nature of the emergency can bring along an ambulance when the patient needs it. Tamil Nadu is an important demography for us and we wanted to launch in Coimbatore first.” Sivachenduram said. He also told media persons at the launch of this app that the company has plans of making this app available in the Chennai and Bengaluru markets too.

The overall health care market today is worth USD 100-billion and it is expected to rise to USD 180-billion by 2020 with a Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 22.9 percent according to India Brand Equity Foundation. Healthcare delivery which includes hospitals, nursing homes, diagnostic centers and pharmaceuticals constitute 65 percent of the overall market. The Health Care Information (HIT) technology market which is valued at USD 1-billion currently is expected to grow 1.5 times by 2020.
