Two Jaish men held; Jammu local `spying for ISI' nabbed

J&K police have arrested two terror suspects associated with Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Muhammad in Baramulla and a Jammu local allegedly spying for Pakistan's intelligence agency , ISI.Locally trained, Safeer Ahmad Bhat and Farhaan Fayaz Liloo were part of terror activities for the last one year, police said. They were part of a Jaish terror module, headed by a Pakistani terrorist going by the code name Khalid, operating in Baramulla and adjacent areas, a police spokesman said.

Police arrested the two in a joint operation with Army and paramilitary forces. The Jaish members were involved in an attack on a security forces convoy on August 16 this year in Baramulla in which a policeman and two army men were killed, police said.

The arrest comes a day after chief minister Mehbooba Mufti urged police to refrain from killing local militants and instead help their return to the mainstream. Meanwhile, another local, Bodh Raj, spying for Pakistan in the Jammu division was held. He was in possession of two Pakistani SIM cards and a map showing deployment of security forces, police said.
