Taken aback by the sight of an elephant, woman dies of cardiac arrest


Yesterday at the Sirukundra estate division, Valparai a old woman died after she encountered the sight of an elephant at close quarters.

Easwari (68) was fast asleep at her house at the estate campus on Saturday. Around wee hours of the morning, Easwari got up after hearing rampaging sounds close to her house. She opened the windows of her home and peeped outside, concurrently an elephant also peeped through the windows. Totally taken aback by the sight of the massive animal, Easwari fainted off. She was rushed to the Valparai government hospital but was declared dead on arrival due to heart attack. 

The unexpected death of Easwari has left the estate employees of Sirukundra in a mournful state of mind.
