When the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) Commissioner Dr. Vijay Karthikeyan assumed office, he created history, as he is the youngest corporation commissioner of our city.
The term of the present office-bearer of the CCMC has come to an end yesterday October 24. On the other hand, the local body elections that were scheduled to take place this month have been rescheduled.
Thus, in order to ensure that the activities of the CCMC function smoothly, till the new office-bearers are appointed the Government of Tamil Nadu has issued a G.O for appointing Special officers for the corporation.
As per this order our Corporation Commissioner Dr. Vijay Karthikeyan has assumed office as Special Officer, Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation in addition to Commissioner, Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation at 10.40 am this morning at the Corporation office.
Our Commissioner is now officially having four portfolios which include, Special officer to the corporation exercising the powers of the mayor, council and all committees, Commissioner of the Coimbatore corporation,. CEO & Managing Director, Coimbatore Smart City Limited.
