Indian troops kill 3 Pakistani Army men

As six more civilians sustained injuries in ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops on Tuesday, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti called for de-escalation.

A PTI report said at least two or three Pakistani Army men are believed to have been killed in the retaliatory firing by Indian troops in the Noushera sector of Rajouri district.

Calling for de-escalation at a security meeting at the Unified Command Headquarters here, Ms. Mufti said, “Cross-border shelling has seen a humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region with people fleeing their homes and scurrying for the safety of their lives.”

Four women were among the civilians injured in the fresh ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops in Jammu’s R.S Pura. The troops opened fire in Rajouri’s Baba Khori and Kalal areas. For the second consecutive day on Tuesday, heavy volume of fire was opened on border outposts in R.S. Pura, besides the mortar shelling. The violation started around 11 p.m. on Monday. “There was calibrated and effective retaliation by the BSF,” said an official.

Around 40 ceasefire violations have been reported in J&K since the Army carried out surgical attacks in PoK.
