Honour for doctors who go beyond the call of duty

Tanker Foundation has called for nominations for its annual award for the most outstanding doctor in India who has gone beyond the call of duty in rendering service to the underprivileged.

The award will have a cash prize of 1 lakh, a citation and a gold medal. The winner's accommodation and travel by train (second class AC) will be reimbursed.

The person nominating will have to send a detailed report with five copies on the nominee including name, address, contact number and type of work carried out and why he/she deserves the award by post, and one copy by e-mail for review by the screening committee.

The last date for nominations is December 15.

Eligibility criteria include community service in India, carried out for a minimum of five years.

Tanker Foundation and K V George Foundation have also invited applications for their annual award for the most outstanding young researcher in nephrology in India.

The award will have a cash prize of 2 lakh, a citation and a gold medal. The award winner's accommodation and travel by train will be reimbursed. Participants should be less than 45 years of research done in India. Co-investigators consent should also be given.
