Accused in the medical dumping waste case under judicial custody till November 11

Earlier this week it was reported that 23 Lorries carrying medical waste from Kerala cleared check posts and reached Ettimadai. The waste was to be dumped and segregated in a land taken on lease in Ettimadai. However, the public and residents of this vicinity protested. Christuraj Coimbatore District Revenue Officer, Thasildar Sivansanakaran visited this location and inspected the 23 Lorries. Shanmugam MLA visited this land about four days ago. The Lorries were confiscated.

It has been reported that the accused who are responsible for transporting the 150-tons of waste from neighbouring Kerala have been arrested. They will be in judicial custody till November 11. In the mean time, their lawyer, Arul Shakthi has also stated that the waste will be cleared from the land in Ettimadai after the necessary permission is obtained from the concerned officials.
