State BJP to announce alliance on Friday

The Tamil Nadu BJP will announce its alliance for the May 16 Assembly elections on Friday after deciding on the finer points. Now that DMDK is out of the picture, BJP will take a final call tomorrow.

According to senior party leader L. Ganesan, BJP Tamil Nadu in-charge and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar would be in Chennai to make the official announcement.

He also said the election committee meeting on Thursday would decide on the first list of candidates. Not willing to concede to the fact that BJP was going to the polls by allying with small parties, Mr. Ganesan said: There is nothing like small or big parties. It will be decided by the people".
