Class II student made ‘election ambassador’

K. Preethi, a class II student of Vilanallur Panchayat Union Middle School, in Vandavasi taluk recited all the 234 assembly constituency names in TamilNadu at an election awareness meeting. Consequently she was declared as ‘election ambassador’ of Cheyyar Constituency by Cheyyar Sub-Collector T.Prabu Shankar on Thursday.

The girl recited the names district wise at an election awareness meeting titled ‘Come to Vote’ held in Arignar Anna Government Arts College, Cheyyar on Thursday. She was immediately given a cash reward of Rs.2,100 and was declared election ambassador for the constituency by Dr.Prabu Shankar.

Seven voters of more than 90 years of age were honoured by students. College principal Palani who ensured 100 per cent registration of all those students who completed 18 years of age was given a certificate of appreciation.
