BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan sounds the alarm: Tamil Nadu's law and order deteriorates

BJP legislator Vanathi Srinivasan said he was shocked by the murder of Murappanad village administrative officer Lourdes Francis in his office in Thoothukudi district. She also alleged that the law and order situation in Tamil Nadu has deteriorated to such an extent that there is no security for government employees.

Coimbatore: BJP women's wing national president and Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan said.

"We are shocked to learn that Lourdes Francis, the village administrative officer of Murappanad village in Thoothukudi district, was brutally hacked to death in his office,".

She also stated,

Responding to a debate in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on the demand for police grants on April 21, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin stated, "The DMK government has maintained law and order in Tamil Nadu and removed the fear of psychosis among the public." We have allowed the police department to function without any interference.

Tamil Nadu CM has said in a statement, "anti-social elements, dacoits and miscreants are arrested immediately".

But within four days of his speech, a village administrative officer was hacked to death in his office. There cannot be a better example of the deteriorating law and order situation in Tamil Nadu. Reports that the village administrative officer was killed because he tried to stop sand mining have exposed the extent to which the sand mafia dominates Tamil Nadu.

Minerals like sand and stones are now more valuable than gold. As a result, the murder of the village administrative official illustrates how the mafia in that business is ready to do anything to obtain mineral resources, including sand. The bureaucracy is in alliance with the sand robbers. That's why honest government officials like Lourdes Francis lose their lives.

Lourdes Francis, the slain village administrative officer, has requested the district collector for a transfer as his life is in danger due to sand robbers. However, he has been given a job in the area where sand mining is going on.

As a result, the Tamil Nadu government should be held responsible for this heinous crime. The murderers of Lourdes Francis must be arrested and punished right away. The family of Lourdes Francis should be compensated accordingly. The Tamil Nadu government should take stringent efforts to prevent mineral looting, especially sand and stones.

Good law and order is essential for a state's development. If the line is left, the industry's growth will suffer. No one will come to invest. Realising this, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin who has kept the police at his disposal to maintain law and order. Stalin should take strict measures.
