Fire Incident at Jewelry Box Manufacturing Company in Coimbatore's Madukkarai

A fire broke out at a private company producing cardboard boxes for jewelry in Madukkarai, Coimbatore, where over 130 employees were working. All workers safely evacuated with no injuries reported.


Coimbatore: A significant fire incident occurred today, February 9th, at a private company located in Arivozhi Nagar, Madukkarai, near Coimbatore, which specializes in manufacturing cardboard boxes for jewelry. The company, employing over 130 individuals, witnessed a sudden outbreak of fire around 2 PM when most workers were outside for lunch.

The fire, which was noticed by the employees as they saw smoke emanating from within the premises, quickly escalated despite initial attempts to douse it. Fortunately, all workers managed to evacuate the building safely, preventing any injuries.











The Coimbatore Fire and Rescue Services were immediately alerted and dispatched to the scene. The firefighters are currently engaged in extinguishing the fire, suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. The extent of the damage and the value of the goods destroyed will only be assessed after the fire has been fully contained.

The incident has prompted nearby companies to intensify their safety precautions to prevent similar occurrences. The area around the company was engulfed in thick smoke, causing concern among the local residents and businesses.

The fire department's prompt response has been crucial in managing the situation, with efforts ongoing to ensure the fire is completely extinguished and to investigate the cause in detail.
