Coimbatore MLA Vanathi Srinivasan Comments on Kejriwal's Arrest and Criticizes DMK's Support

Coimbatore MLA Vanathi Srinivasan expresses no surprise at DMK's support for Arvind Kejriwal following his arrest, alleging it "to a pattern of corruption and governance within DMK." She highlights the legal basis of enforcement actions and mocked "the irony of DMK criticizing law enforcement's actions."

Coimbatore: MLA Vanathi Srinivasan, in a statement today, reflected on the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, pointing out the lack of surprise at DMK's support for Kejriwal amidst allegations of corruption.

Criticizing the DMK government, she accused it of using law enforcement as a tool for its own purposes, particularly targeting those who voice opposition against Chief Minister Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on social media, leading to arrests even if it requires travel across states.

In her critique, Srinivasan emphasized the independence of the judiciary in India, which operates without government interference, contrasting this with the allegations against Kejriwal. She remarked on the misuse of power for family governance, drawing parallels between DMK's alleged corruption and Kejriwal's situation.

The MLA stressed the importance of adhering to democratic principles, warning against any deviation from democratic norms by any party, including the BJP. She called for an end to the repeated defamation of the central government by Chief Minister Stalin and reminded of the historical events under Indira Gandhi's rule when the constitution was put at risk.
