More than 200 students participated in an anti-drug awareness human chain and rally organised by the Coimbatore City Police and Ar-Rahman Academy in Karumbukadai to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse.
Coimbatore: More than 200 students participated in a massive anti-drug awareness human chain and rally organised by the Coimbatore City Police and Ar-Rahman Academy Free Educational Institution in Karumbukadai on Saturday to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
The awareness programme was flagged off by Karumbukadai (D6) Police Station Sub-Inspector Chandru and Coimbatore Corporation Ward 86 Councillor Ahmed Kabeer.

The event was organised with the objective of creating awareness among students and the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of building a drug-free society.
More than 200 students enthusiastically took part in the programme, forming a human chain and marching through the major roads of Karumbukadai while raising slogans highlighting the dangers of narcotic drugs and the need to stay away from substance abuse.
The participants also appealed to members of the public to join hands in preventing drug abuse and promoting a healthy, addiction-free society.

The rally received an encouraging response from residents and motorists, with organisers stating that the initiative aimed to strengthen community awareness and encourage greater public participation in the fight against drug abuse.
Ar-Rahman Academy administrators along with members of the teaching faculty, led the rally and participated in the awareness campaign.
