Coimbatore: In light of the upcoming elections, the railways have announced a special election express train service to aid voters traveling between Chennai and Coimbatore. The service will operate on specific dates in April to accommodate the increased passenger flow during the election period. The special trains from Chennai to Coimbatore are scheduled for April 18 and April 20, while the return journeys from Coimbatore to Chennai are set for April 19 and April 21. The trains will follow a strategic route passing through Palani, Dindigul, Trichy, Thanjavur, Cuddalore, Tambaram, and Chennai Egmore, ensuring extensive connectivity across significant regions.
