KCLAS Hosts Conclave on Mental Wellbeing in the Tech and AI Era

Kumaraguru College's Department of Psychology organized a conclave on Mental Wellbeing in the Tech and AI Era on April 10, 2024, exploring the psychological impacts of digital age technologies.


Coimbatore: On April 10, 2024, the Department of Psychology at Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science (KCLAS) hosted a significant conclave titled "Mental Wellbeing In The Tech And AI Era". The event focused on the daunting challenges of preserving mental health amidst our increasingly digital lifestyle.






The conclave provided a platform to discuss the psychological impacts of constant connectivity and AI's influence on human behavior. Esteemed speakers examined the effects of rapid technological advancements on the mental wellness of professionals and the youth. The gathering was graced by prominent personalities such as Prof Dr. Ganesan Vedagiri, founder and director of Global Institute of Behaviour Technology and former head of psychology at Bharathiyar University; Dr Harold Patrick, industrial psychologist and dean of Jain University; Dr Selvaraj, director of Vazhikatti and psychiatrist; Dr Shailaja Shastri, director-research at YourDOST; and Dr Ashwini, founder and director of Muktha Foundation who moderated a panel on integrating technology and AI into mental health practices.






The discussions emphasized adaptive strategies in a tech-saturated era and encouraged open communication within the workplace to foster a supportive atmosphere and preemptive mental healthcare interventions. The event concluded with a panel discussing the wisdom of using technology in mental health services, sharing insights on enhancing mental wellbeing through AI and technological applications in various organizational and therapy settings.
