Increase in Crimes Against Women and Elders under DMK Rule, Claims Vanathi Srinivasan

Vanathi Srinivasan released a report by Public Policy Research Center in Coimbatore, criticizing DMK's governance and alleging increase in crimes against women and elders.

Coimbatore: In a scathing attack on the DMK government, BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan today released a report titled 'DMK's Failure in Promises' prepared by the Public Policy Research Center. The event was held at a private hotel in Ram Nagar on April 16. Post-release, Srinivasan addressed the media, highlighting several issues allegedly ignored by the state government.

She accused the DMK of presenting false development narratives and neglecting fundamental sectors like agriculture, which according to her, has seen a significant reduction in water resources. Furthermore, Srinivasan criticized the state for undermining spiritual tourism potential by disrespecting and damaging temples, an act she claims lowers revenue from religious tourism.

According to her, there has been a notable decline in industrial activities leading to fewer employment opportunities for the youth under DMK's tenure. She also refuted claims about the central government withholding funds, pointing out the Tamil Nadu's absence from GST discussions as a neglect of duty, whilst blaming the central government unjustly.

Srinivasan further discussed water issues with Karnataka, mentioning that post a Congress government establishment there, Tamil Nadu has been facing denials in water supply, with no proactive measures from state ministers like Durai Murugan.

Lastly, the BJP legislator stressed an alarming rise in crimes against women and the elderly, stating that under the DMK government, these issues have escalated significantly.
