TNAU to Conduct One Day Beekeeping Training in May 2024

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in Coimbatore announces a one-day beekeeping training on May 6, 2024. It includes hands-on activities like honey extraction and bee species identification.


Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) is hosting a comprehensive one-day training session on "Beekeeping" at their Department of Agricultural Entomology. Scheduled for May 6, 2024, the training aims to enrich participants with practical knowledge and skills in the art of beekeeping.

The session will cover key areas such as the identification of different bee species and understanding their social structure, techniques for rearing Indian bees in boxes, seasonal management practices, and strategies for using bees to enhance crop pollination. Additionally, participants will learn about honey extraction processes, and how to manage common enemies and diseases that affect bees.

The training requires participants to arrive at the Department of Entomology, TNAU, by 9 AM with an ID proof and the training fee of Rs. 590. The session will run from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a full day of immersive learning and hands-on experience.
