Two Arrested for Trafficking 11 Kilograms of ganja in Coimbatore

In Coimbatore, two men were arrested for trafficking 11 kilograms of ganja. The police operation was part of efforts to eradicate drug use in the region.


Coimbatore: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Coimbatore police have arrested two individuals for possessing and transporting 11 kilograms of cannabis. The arrest occurred near Karpagam College, a known area in the city, during a vehicle checkpoint operation conducted by the special task force led by Police Commissioner Badhrinarayanan.


The suspects, identified as Rajendra Prasad (59) from Kurichi region and Shivaji (49) from Erode district, were found with cannabis worth approximately Rs. 1,10,000. This operation is part of Commissioner Badrinarayanan's ongoing campaign to create a drug-free Coimbatore, acting on confidential information about their activities received the previous day.
