The minister's unexpected visit was part of his tour through the Valparai assembly constituency in Coimbatore district.

The Kottur area, located near Pollachi, is home to both boys' and girls' government higher secondary schools, with over 500 students enrolled. Minister Poyyamozhi, who was en route from Pollachi via Kottur, made an unscheduled stop at the girls' school in the Malayandipattanam area of Kottur.

During his visit, the minister engaged directly with the students, inquiring about their individual talents and skills.
