The Coimbatore District Legal Services Authority has announced that National Lok Adalat will be held on December 13 across district courts. Pending cases including bank loans, motor vehicle accidents, and property disputes will be heard for amicable settlement with court fees refund facility available.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Legal Services Authority has announced that a National Lok Adalat will be held on Saturday, December 13, across various court complexes in the district.
The Lok Adalat has been organized at the Coimbatore District Integrated Court Complex, Mettupalayam, Pollachi, Valparai, Sulur, Madukkarai, and Annur court complexes.
Cases eligible for hearing include pending compoundable criminal cases, cheque-related cases, bank loan and education loan cases, and motor vehicle accident cases that can be resolved through mutual consent.
Additionally, family dispute cases excluding divorce, civil cases, land and property disputes, partition suits, rental matters, sale transactions, income and property tax issues will be examined and settled amicably, according to the Legal Services Authority.
Settlements reached before the Lok Adalat are final and not subject to appeal. Court fees paid for cases settled through Lok Adalat will be fully refunded to the parties involved.
Consumer court cases and debt recovery cases will also be resolved through this Lok Adalat. To facilitate resolution of such cases, special sessions under the chairmanship of District Judges will be organized from December 1 onwards by the Coimbatore District Legal Services Authority.
