Coimbatore: Ward 27 councillor Ambika Thanapal, covering the Peelamedu area under Coimbatore Corporation North Zone within the Singanallur assembly constituency, personally inspected multiple corporation works on the morning of September 17, 2026.
She visited Peelamedu Coimbatore Corporation Primary School to review the implementation of the Tamil Nadu government's breakfast scheme, and spoke with school teachers and students to understand how the programme was being carried out.

In Rajagopal Layout, dengue mosquito eradication work was carried out. Mosquito larvae were identified and removed, bleaching powder was applied, and Abate solution was poured into water tanks to prevent further larval growth.

At Thookkinar Street, the councillor inspected ongoing work to lay a new stormwater drain. She instructed the contractor to carry out the work carefully so as to avoid damaging the saline water pipeline and drinking water pipelines during construction.

She also inspected the cleaning of roadside plants and drains on NGR Street, and instructed sanitation workers to collect the cleared plants and waste at a single location instead of leaving them scattered around.

Further, she reviewed the removal of wood waste that had accumulated on the roadside in front of Sri Gopal Naidu School on Bharathi Colony Main Road. She instructed the sanitation workers to complete the work quickly so as not to cause inconvenience to students going to school.
