New Coimbatore Mayor Should Be Selected Without Controversy: Vanathi Srinivasan

BJP leader Vanathi Srinivasan inaugurated a waiting hall at Coimbatore Government Hospital and discussed various issues including the selection of Coimbatore's new mayor, corruption in Tamil Nadu, and caste census.

Coimbatore: BJP National Women's Wing President and Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan inaugurated a new waiting hall at Coimbatore Government Hospital on Sunday. The facility, built at a cost of 20 lakhs from MLA development funds, aims to provide comfort for patients and their families, especially near the maternity ward.

Speaking to reporters after the event, Srinivasan highlighted the importance of the new facility. "Coimbatore Government Hospital serves not only our district but also neighboring areas. This waiting hall will be particularly beneficial for women and children visiting the maternity ward," she said.

The BJP leader also addressed several other issues, including the selection of Coimbatore's new mayor. "Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is coming to select the new mayor for Coimbatore Corporation, should respond to this matter. The selection process should be carried out properly without any irregularities," Srinivasan emphasized.

Srinivasan criticized the DMK government's approach to various issues in Tamil Nadu. "Corruption has increased in all departments in Tamil Nadu. That's why we say the right administration needs to be elected," she stated. She also pointed out that while the DMK government is quick to form committees for every problem, there is often little action taken.

Regarding the caste census, Srinivasan said, "States can conduct their own caste census. There is no restriction on this. The DMK government lacks the courage to do this and keeps asking the central government, which seems like avoiding responsibility."

The BJP leader also commented on railway accidents, stating that the central government is taking various measures to reduce accidents using technology. "Whether it's a technical glitch or human error, it's the government's duty to rectify it and protect people. The central government is doing that," she concluded.
