Coimbatore: A Bhoomi Pooja ceremony was conducted today in Periyanaickenpalayam to mark the commencement of a new tar road construction project. The event signifies the official start of the road improvement works in the area.

The project, which will see the construction of a new tar road in the Housing Board area of the 18th ward, is estimated to cost Rs. 83 lakhs. Panchayat President Vishwaprakash performed the Bhoomi Pooja and officially inaugurated the road construction work.

Several local officials and community members attended the ceremony. Among those present were Councillor Santhoshkumar, Vice President Umadevi, and Executive Officer Nandakumar. Local residents also participated in the event, showing their support for the infrastructure development in their area.
