Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, a young woman was found murdered in a lodge at Chinniyampalayam, Coimbatore district. The police have arrested her lover in connection with the crime.

On September 13, a young couple checked into a lodge in Chinniyampalayam. The following morning, lodge staff became suspicious when they saw the young man hastily leaving the premises alone. Upon checking the room, they discovered the body of the young woman with injuries on her face.

The Peelamedu police were immediately informed. They arrived at the scene, conducted an initial investigation, and sent the body for post-mortem examination at the government hospital. The police also questioned a youth found loitering in the area.

During the interrogation, the suspect identified himself as Saravanan from R.G. Pudhur. The deceased woman was identified as Geetha from Kallappalayam. It was revealed that the couple had been in a romantic relationship and had secretly married without their families' knowledge. However, it came to light that they were actually related as brother and sister.
