Youth's Body Recovered from Well After 4 Days in Coimbatore's Sanganur

A young man's body was recovered from a well near Sanganur, Coimbatore, four days after he allegedly committed suicide. The incident caused a stir in the area as rescue efforts continued for days.


Coimbatore: The body of a young man was recovered from a well near Sanganur in Coimbatore, four days after he allegedly committed suicide. The deceased, identified as Vijayaraghavan from Nallampalaiyam area of Sanganur, was reportedly struggling with alcoholism and depression due to being unmarried.

On the evening of September 11, locals reported that Vijayaraghavan had jumped into a well near his house. The fire department was immediately informed and began search operations. Despite intensive efforts over four days, they were unable to locate the body.

As the initial attempts proved unsuccessful, authorities sought help from the Kuba Diving team, a group of deep-sea pearl divers from Thoothukudi. The team arrived in Coimbatore on September 15 to assist with the recovery operation.

After several hours of challenging work, the diving team successfully retrieved the body from the well. The deceased's remains were then sent to Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.

This incident had caused significant concern and tension in the area over the past four days as rescue efforts continued. The local community had been anxiously awaiting news of the recovery, and the successful retrieval of the body has brought a somber closure to the tragic event.
