Youth killed by intoxicated friends in Coimbatore's Periyanaickenpalayam

In Coimbatore's Periyanaickenpalayam, a youth named Kannan was fatally attacked with stones during an alcohol-fueled dispute among friends. Periyanaickenpalayam police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.


Coimbatore: Periyanaickenpalayam police received information about a youth found dead with severe head injuries near the Recycling Park area in Periyanaickenpalayam, Coimbatore. The police immediately rushed to the scene, recovered the body, and sent it to Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Investigation revealed that the deceased was identified as Kannan, son of Loganathan from Venkatasamy Road, Siddapudur, Coimbatore. Kannan had been drinking alcohol with five of his friends, including Karthik, Ravindran, and Satish, at a bar in Siddapudur.



Later, the group traveled to the Periyanaickenpalayam Recycling Park area in a rented car, where they continued to consume alcohol. As the intoxication level increased, an argument broke out between Kannan and his friends. In a fit of rage, the friends violently attacked Kannan, striking him on the head and stomach with stones and beer bottles. Kannan died on the spot due to the severity of the assault.

Following the incident, Kannan's friends fled the scene. Periyanaickenpalayam police have registered a case regarding this murder and are currently searching for five individuals, including Karthik, Ravindran, and Satish.
