Coimbatore Employment Registration Free; Collector Warns Against Fake Ads

Coimbatore District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar has warned job seekers not to fall prey to fake advertisements on WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram demanding fees for employment registration services, stating all services at district employment office are completely free.

Coimbatore: District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar has issued a stern warning to the public not to fall victim to fake advertisements circulating on social media platforms that demand money for employment registration services, clarifying that all services provided by the Coimbatore District Employment and Career Guidance Centre are completely free of charge.

The District Employment and Career Guidance Centre provides various services including employment registration, renewal, unemployment allowance for youth, additional registration, and address changes under the Employment and Training Department without any fee whatsoever.

However, fake advertisements and videos have been proliferating recently on social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram, claiming to provide these services for a fee. The Collector has emphasized that the public must recognize these as complete fraudulent activities.

In an official announcement, the Collector stated, "Members of the public should not trust such fake advertisements or intermediaries and should not share personal information or money with them. These services can be obtained completely free of charge by directly visiting the Coimbatore District Employment and Career Guidance Centre during office working days."

The Collector has advised job-seeking youth to act cautiously and not fall prey to fake advertisements, reminding them to keep in mind that all services provided by the government employment office are free. The public has been urged to directly approach the official employment office for authentic services rather than relying on social media advertisements.

The warning comes as several unemployed youth have reportedly been duped by fraudsters posing as employment office agents on various social media platforms. The District Administration has reiterated its commitment to providing free employment services to all eligible candidates through the official channel.
