Coimbatore: The water level at Amaravathi Dam in Tirupur district has risen to 30.25 feet on May 26 due to continuous rainfall and inflow, according to Water Resources Department officials.




The dam, which has a total storage capacity of 90 feet, has been receiving steady inflow from its catchment areas. As of today, the water level stands at 30.25 feet, marking a significant rise in recent days.




Water Resources Department officials reported that the dam is currently receiving an inflow of 124 cubic feet per second. They also noted that no water is being released from the dam at present, as the storage levels remain within manageable limits.




Amaravathi Dam serves as a crucial irrigation source for Tirupur district, supporting agricultural activities and meeting water requirements of the region. Water Resources Department officials are continuously monitoring the water level situation and regularly updating the public about the dam's status.
