Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja on Wednesday inspected the ongoing construction of a new park being developed at an estimated cost of ₹97 lakh in Ganapathy Maanagar, 4th Block, under Ward 20 of the North Zone.
During the inspection, the Commissioner reviewed the progress of the project, which is being executed using Corporation general funds, and directed officials to expedite the works to ensure its early completion for public use.
As part of the visit, he planted saplings within the park premises to mark the launch of a plantation drive. A total of 63 saplings, including Vaagai, Neem, Banyan, and May Flower trees, were planted during the programme.
The park is one of several civic infrastructure and beautification projects being undertaken by the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation to expand green spaces and improve public amenities across the city. The new facility is expected to provide residents of Ward 20 with a dedicated recreational and eco-friendly public space.
Corporation Chief Engineers and other Corporation officials were present during the inspection.
