10 Kg of Narcotic Substance Seized Near Sungam in Coimbatore; Two Arrested

Coimbatore City Prohibition Enforcement Wing police seized 10 kg of ganja near Sungam Roundana and arrested two persons in connection with the case. The narcotic substance was allegedly concealed inside an Eicher goods vehicle intercepted during a late-night vehicle inspection.


Coimbatore: Acting on a tip-off, the Coimbatore City Prohibition Enforcement Wing (PEW) police intercepted an Eicher goods vehicle near Sungam–Ramanathapuram Roundana in Coimbatore and allegedly seized 10 kg of ganja concealed inside the vehicle.



The accused were identified as P. Manikandan (29) of Peelamedu and Arunkumar (30) of Namakkal district, who was reportedly driving the vehicle from Vizag in Andhra Pradesh. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act and both the accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
