A public grievance meeting was held at Coimbatore Corporation head office under the chairmanship of Mayor Ka. Ranganayaki Ramachandran, in the presence of Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran. Citizens submitted 41 petitions regarding basic amenities. Immediate action was ordered on all grievances.
Coimbatore: A public grievance redressal meeting was held at the Coimbatore Corporation head office today (02.06.2026), chaired by Mayor Ka. Ranganayaki Ramachandran, in the presence of Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran.
During this meeting, citizens from all areas of the corporation submitted 41 petitions to the Mayor and Commissioner. The petitions included requests for various basic amenities such as birth and death certificates, road facilities, street lights, drinking water supply, underground drainage, professional tax, property tax, vacant land tax, new water connections, name changes, medical facilities, sanitation, and education.
Citizens submitted a total of 41 petitions across all five zones—East, West, North, South, and Central—as well as at the head office. After receiving these petitions, the Mayor and Commissioner instructed the respective zonal Assistant Commissioners, Engineers, and officials to take immediate appropriate action on all the grievances raised by the public.
The public grievance meeting directly addressed various needs of citizens. A significant number of petitions were received regarding basic amenities such as issuance of birth and death certificates, road improvement works, street light repairs, drinking water distribution, and underground drainage maintenance.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Mayor Ra. Vetriselvan, Deputy Commissioner A. Sultana, Corporation Chief Engineer Vijayakumar, Health Officer Dr. V.C. Subash Gandhi, Town Planning Officer Rajasekaran, Officer Gunasekaran, Assistant Commissioners, Executive Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, Zonal Health Officers, Corporation Education Engineers, Health Inspectors, all Corporation officials, and members of the public.
The Corporation administration has committed to undertaking public welfare works. It was assured that all petitions will be resolved within a specified time frame.
