Coimbatore: Actor Ram Charan is recovering well after undergoing surgery for a chronic wrist injury at Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore, the hospital management said in an official health update on Monday.
According to the hospital, the actor underwent a successful surgical procedure on July 27 to treat a complex and chronic tear of the Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex (TFCC) in his right wrist. The medical team said Ram Charan is “doing very well” following the surgery and is expected to remain under observation for another day. He is likely to be discharged on Thursday morning.
Following the procedure, Ganga Hospital released a photograph of the actor with the treating medical team comprising Dr. Rajasekaran, Head of Orthopaedics and Spine Surgery, Dr. Raja Sabapathy, Head of the Plastic Surgery Unit, and Dr. Praveen Bharadwaj, who performed the surgery.
According to reports, Ram Charan sustained the wrist injury while filming an intense wrestling sequence for his upcoming film Peddi. Despite the injury, he chose to complete the film’s shooting and promotional commitments before undergoing the recommended surgical procedure.
The actor’s arrival at Ganga Hospital earlier this week, accompanied by his father, veteran actor Chiranjeevi, mother Surekha, and wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela, drew significant public attention. Videos of the family entering the hospital were widely shared on social media, prompting concern among fans about the actor’s health before the hospital confirmed that the surgery had been successful and that he was recovering well.
