Hackathon and AI Workshop Mark Future Minds Innovation Event at Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science for Women

Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science for Women organized Future Minds: Innovating for Sustainability, a two-day DST-FIST sponsored event on August 6-7, 2026. Nearly 300 students from 25 schools participated in hackathons, quizzes, AI workshops, and idea pitching competitions focused on sustainable innovation.


Coimbatore: Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science for Women successfully conducted a two-day innovation-focused event titled "Future Minds: Innovating for Sustainability" on August 6 and 7, 2026, under the DST-FIST Sponsored initiative.



The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Dr K Chitra, Principal of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science for Women. R Gunasekaran, Corporation Educational Officer, Coimbatore, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and encouraged participants to adopt innovation, critical thinking, and technology-driven approaches to tackle societal and environmental challenges.

The event recorded remarkable participation from approximately 300 students representing 25 schools across the region. It provided an energetic platform for nurturing innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills among young minds.

The comprehensive two-day programme featured multiple competitive segments including a Hackathon, Prompt Challenge, Quiz, and Idea Pitching sessions. These activities were supplemented by an insightful Industry Talk and a practical hands-on Artificial Intelligence Workshop, offering participants valuable exposure to emerging technologies and AI applications.

The programme culminated with a Valedictory Ceremony where outstanding performers in the Hackathon and various competitions were recognized and awarded prizes along with certificates of achievement. The event successfully demonstrated the college's commitment to promoting technological literacy and sustainable thinking among school students in the region.
