Coimbatore Corporation Officials Inspect Chlorine Levels to Ensure Drinking Water Quality

Coimbatore Corporation officials directly inspected chlorine levels in overhead water tanks and drinking water supplied to homes today (08.08.2026). The quality inspection conducted across various areas ensured water safety and proper chlorination standards for public health.


Coimbatore: In an effort to ensure the quality of drinking water supplied by the Corporation, municipal officials conducted direct inspections across various areas today (08.08.2026). A detailed examination of chlorine levels in overhead water tanks and drinking water distributed to households was carried out as part of the quality assurance initiative.




Corporation officials engaged in fieldwork to verify that chlorine levels in various overhead water tanks across the municipal area are maintained at appropriate proportions. They also directly tested and confirmed that adequate chlorine content is present in the drinking water being supplied to homes.


Chlorination of drinking water is a crucial measure to eliminate pathogens and purify water. Through this inspection, the Corporation has ensured that safe and quality drinking water is being provided to the public. Chlorine levels in all areas have been confirmed to be at the required standards.


This inspection initiative was undertaken under the leadership of Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran. Corporation officials stated that such periodic inspections to maintain drinking water quality will be conducted regularly.
