Thudiyalur Residents Urged to Ditch Single-Use Plastics in Civic Awareness Drive

Coimbatore Corporation's North Zone conducted an awareness rally in Thudiyalur on August 17, 2026, promoting alternatives to single-use plastics. The 1-kilometer rally from ward office to Anjaneya Temple saw participation from 25 sanitation workers and animators spreading environmental awareness.


Coimbatore: An awareness rally promoting alternatives to single-use plastics was conducted in Thudiyalur areas under Coimbatore Corporation's North Zone on August 17, 2026.

The rally was organized by the corporation to create awareness among the public about using alternative products instead of single-use disposable plastic items in Thudiyalur areas covering ward numbers 1, 2, 12, 13, 14, and 15 under the North Zone.




The awareness rally covered approximately 1 kilometer distance from Thudiyalur ward office to Thudiyalur Anjaneya Temple. Ward sanitation supervisors, sanitation workers, and animators participated in this rally.




Coimbatore Corporation has been conducting continuous awareness programs regarding single-use plastic products and promoting alternative products across areas under 100 wards in 5 zones. Through these awareness initiatives, the corporation is also creating awareness about protecting the environment, animal welfare, and water resources.




The awareness rally was conducted under the supervision of Sanitation Inspector K Jeeva Muruga Raj. Public awareness was created about using cloth bags as alternatives to single-use disposable plastic items. More than 25 people participated in this rally.
