Southern Railway has announced two one-way special trains on August 29 to cater to the increasing passenger demand. Both services will pass through Coimbatore’s Podanur Junction, with one operating from Mangaluru Junction to SMVT Bengaluru and the other from Thiruvananthapuram North to Santragachi Junction in Kolkata.
Coimbatore: Southern Railway has announced two one-way special trains to cater to the increasing number of passengers, with both services scheduled to pass through Podanur Junction in Coimbatore.
The first service, Train No. 06072 Mangaluru Jn–SMVT Bengaluru One Way Special, will depart from Mangaluru Junction at 11.15 am on August 29 and reach SMVT Bengaluru at 4 am the following day. The train will have AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class coaches.
As per the Salem Division timings, the train will arrive at Podanur at 7.20 pm and depart at 7.22 pm, followed by Tiruppur at 8.18 pm, Erode at 9 pm and Salem at 10.10 pm.
The second service, Train No. 06058 Thiruvananthapuram North–Santragachi Jn One Way Special, will depart Thiruvananthapuram North at 2.40 pm on August 29 and reach Santragachi Junction at 2.15 pm on August 31. The service will comprise Sleeper Class, General Second Class and Luggage-cum-Brake Van coaches.
The train will pass through Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode and Salem. On August 30, it is scheduled to reach Podanur at 12.18 am and depart at 12.20 am, followed by Tiruppur at 1.28 am, Erode at 2.10 am and Salem at 3.17 am.
The special services have been introduced in view of the increasing passenger demand.

The train will pass through Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode and Salem. On August 30, it is scheduled to reach Podanur at 12.18 am and depart at 12.20 am, followed by Tiruppur at 1.28 am, Erode at 2.10 am and Salem at 3.17 am.
