A house on the 2nd street of Natarajar Nagar, B&T Colony, Kavundampalayam, Coimbatore, was burgled while the family was away in Jaipur. Burglars allegedly broke open the rear door and stole around 8.5 sovereigns of gold jewellery kept in a cupboard. Police have launched an investigation and are examining CCTV footage to trace the suspects
Coimbatore: A family returning from a trip to Jaipur, Rajasthan, was shocked to find their rented house burgled in Kavundampalayam, Coimbatore, with gold jewellery weighing 8.5 sovereigns stolen from a cupboard.
Sunilkumar (31), a native of Rajasthan, resides in Natarajar Nagar, B&T Colony, Kavundampalayam. On August 28, at around 8 a.m., he locked his house and left for Jaipur in Rajasthan with his family. He returned home yesterday and was shocked to find the rear door broken open.
Upon entering the house and checking the belongings, he found that unidentified persons had stolen gold jewellery weighing 8.5 sovereigns from the cupboard. Sunilkumar subsequently lodged a complaint with the Kavundampalayam police.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case and are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to identify and trace the suspects.
