Applications invited for ROBOFEST 2016 contest

Coimbatore based IroboChakra, Robotic Academy for school and college students, hobbyists and robotic enthusiasts, has joined hands with Bengaluru-based Novatech Robo and Lawrence Technological University, Michigan, the USA, to organise the International Robotic Competition, ROBOFEST 2016. This is the first time that Coimbatore will host a contest of this kind.

Topics for International Robotic Contest - ROBOFEST 2016 are RoboGolf (aka RoboPutting) and Bottle Sumo. Five members per team are eligible to participate in this contest.

Irobochakra Academy will provide free training and support 15 teams from Corporation schools by sponsoring their registration fee in an effort to ensure that Robotic subjects reaches the students of these schools. For students who do not have Robotics as a part of their curriculum, a special 10 to 15 hour free training session has been organised between February 24 and 27. Last date for registration is February 20.

Winner of this contest will qualify to participate in the finals of the World ROBOFEST 2016 Competition which is scheduled to be organised at Lawrence Technological University, Michigan, on May 13 and 14.

ROBOFEST 2016 will be held on February 27 and 28 at Chinmaya Vidhyalaya, Chinmaya Vidya Niketan Auditorium, Thadagam Road, R.S. Puram.

A release said that Corporation Commissioner Dr. Vijay Karthikeyan will inaugurate the event.
