Lawyers urge state governments to focus on ensuring safety of the citizens

More than 20 lawyers staged protest in front of the Coimbatore District Judicial Court, against the atrocities on Tamils in Karnataka, over the Cauvery issue.

Advocate Venmadhi stated that, the atrocities staged against the Tamils and their properties in Karnataka is highly condemnable and their Government has failed to ensure safety of their state citizens. The Central Government's disposition over the Cauvery issue is against the welfare of the people and farmers of Tamil Nadu. Hence, it's the need of the hour to form a special management committee for handling the Cauvery issue, by the Central government to handle this issue with keen responsibility. Both the Central and State governments should alter their stands accordingly, to ensure utmost safety of the people in both states.
