RSYF stands strong against the new education policy

The activists of the Revolutionary Students and Youth Federation today in a press release stated that, that the Central Government's new education policy is trying to spread hindutva ideology.

They alleged that the 'Modi government's proposed new education policy is nothing but a combination of saffronisation and Corporatization. The government is trying to enforce Sanskrit as a medium of education from School to Research level. The new education policy states that post fifth standard, if the students fails to progress, he would be provided with skill set-based training, which indirectly means no education for those children after their fifth standard.

Even at Higher Secondary levels, the students would be given two options, Part 'A' and Part 'B'. Under Part 'A' , the students can learn English, Mathematics and Science subjects and under Part B the students can choose technical learning courses, it is clear that the Government aims at creating diploma students rather than motivating them towards advanced studies.

The new education policy questions the education of the poor and economically-deprived people and in turn gives more scope of learning for the upper castes. 'Banning of student unions' is also one of the agenda of the policy. Private universities from western countries would spread their branches here and the existing setups would be taken by corporates, which will transform education as a business. Hence, we call the students, teachers, and all pro-democratic people to join hands to oppose the draft policy.

The agitators tried to burn the proposed draft copy of the new education policy and affirmed that they would intensify the protests, if the government tries to force it on the public. The protestors courted arrest and the police forcibly carried them to the police vans and cleared the unrest.
