Engineering student dies in road accident

A final year student studying of Rathinam Engineering College at Malumichampatti was killed in a road accident at Chettipalayam here, yesterday night. 

Thirupathi Raja (22) along with his friend Sivasakthi, was out for dinner. When the duo approached Chettipalayam a lorry knocked him down, killing Thirupathi Raja on the spot and Sivasakthi with grave injuries. 

Presently, Sivasakthi is undergoing critical treatment at a private hospital. The Police have arrested the lorry driver Mariappan and registered a case against the accident.

The deceased victim hails from Udumalpet.
