Political outfits petition Collector to ensure safety of the people in the city.


The political leaders of CPI, CPM, DMK, DMDK, CONGRESS, Tamil Puligal, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, TPDK and few other parties of Coimbatore district, petitioned to the District Collector, T.N. Hariharan to control the 'unrest' situation and to ensure the safety of the people in the city. They jointly requested that the District Collector and City Commissioner of Police to take immediate steps to curb the violence in the city and initiate stern action against the offenders.










K. Ramakrishnan of Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kalagam in his press meet, condemned the brutal murder of Sasikumar, Spokesperson of Hindu Munani. 'The violence staged in connect to the incident, by burning and damaging public properties is unacceptable', he said. He cited the provoking statement issued by a leader of the Hindu Munani party, today and stated that such undesirable statements would aggravate the violence. 'People should stay from indulging in violence as it destroys the peace and harmony of the city' he said.
