Police assures shopkeepers on protection, insists to open up shops

Reports say, some miscreants have been threatening and insisting the owners to closed down the shops in Gandhipuram, Cross cut road, Raja Street, Thudiyalur and few other places. They have also pillaged two shops at Thudiyalur and a bus was pillaged at Podanur. 



However, the police have advised the people to report such incidents and have extended protection in all those areas. At Raja Street and Town Hall areas most of the shops were closed, the police insisted the shop owners to open their premise and assured them of protection. Additional police force has been deployed at Big bazaar street, Ukkadam and Kottaimedu areas.
